AAA,
I echo the encouragement to visit zoos when traveling as stated in "Feed the Wild Side" (Sep/Oct 2006). I recently returned from St. Louis, where I spent a pleasant morning at the St. Louis Zoo in Forest Park. The Riverside Walk and the Big Cat sections were especially interesting and well presented. A year ago, on a trip to Canada, I included a visit to the Calgary Zoo. This also was an excellent experience.
I was surprised to see the comparatively high admission price for the Philadelphia Zoo. Only the San Diego Zoo had a higher fare among the zoos listed in the article. The St. Louis Zoo is FREE. Many families with children were in attendance.
