Progress Avenue Branch is Open for Business

The building addition to the Progress Avenue branch of AAA Central Penn is complete and the staff is ready to serve members and clients with much greater efficiency. The changes to the Progress Avenue branch have improved the quality of customer service AAA Central Penn has been able to give to members. The Club broke ground in the fall of 2006 and staff began to occupy the 25,000-square-foot addition in September 2007.

"I love having the entire management team under one roof," AAA Central Penn President/CEO Mitch Hillman said. "If I need to speak with someone, I can walk down the hall and have a face-to-face discussion instead of picking up the phone or sending an email. That direct communication makes a difference."

In addition to AAA Central Penn management, the building also houses the Marketing, Member Records and Accounting departments, as well as a Member Services area that includes the Insurance Agency, Travel Agency and Travel Store. Hillman said he is very pleased with the work of builder, A.P. Williams, in making seamless matches with materials, such as the brick and roof, to make the addition look like the existing, 20-year-old building.

"I am absolutely delighted with our spacious and beautiful new facility," Hillman said. "This is a reflection of our commitment to our members. We keep adding and improving our brick-and-mortar locations to benefit our membership."

AAA Central Penn has 12 convenient locations to serve its 339,000 members, or one for every 28,250 members. The national average is one office per 60,000 members. "We have a very high percentage of locations to membership," Hillman said.

Tom McGowan, Vice President of Support Services, is equally excited about the new addition. "We are committed to providing our members with quality service and our new spacious facilities gives us that opportunity," he said.

Frank Frailey, Vice President/COO, said the project went smoothly. "I am very proud of the outcome and trust that it will meet our needs for years to come," he said.

In recognition, AAA Central Penn is ready to celebrate with a prize drawing for members. From May 12-16, members are urged to stop by the Progress Avenue branch or any of the convenient branches to register to win valuable prizes. Those who enter could win:

Members may choose to enter the drawing at Progress Avenue and take a look at the new office, or they can enter at their neighborhood office. The choice is theirs.
