The AAA Staff is at Your Service in Mechanicsburg/Silver Spring

The Mechanicsburg/Silver Spring Branch of AAA Central Penn, located at 3 Baden Powell Lane, is conveniently located off Route 114, two traffic lights from Carlisle Pike. The easy-access branch, which can be reached from Bent Creek Drive, has been open for business in this growing area for seven years. The branch provides a full range of AAA services to members, including great competitive rates for Travel and the recently added Insurance Agency. Branch Manager Shawn Hentz states, "The No. 1 priority of this veteran staff is to provide great service to the members."

Shawn has been Branch Manager since September and has been with AAA Central Penn for four years, beginning as an Emergency Road Service supervisor until January 2006, when he became the assistant branch manager at James Street. Shawn is a member of the Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Assistant Branch Manager Christie Underkoffler, has been with AAA for 10 years. She started in the Camp Hill office in Member Services and moved to Mechanicsburg/Silver Spring in May 2004. She was promoted to her present position in 2005.

Member Services

The Member Services Specialists at the Mechanicsburg/Silver Spring Branch are always ready to help with everything from notary service & license work to ordering a TripTik, helping with a Travel Store purchase to taking a passport photo and more.

Mary Ann Garbarino, worked at the Progress Avenue Branch from 1994-97. She returned to AAA in 2000 to the Call Center from January through November and then went to Mechanicsburg the day the branch opened and has enjoyed the interaction with the members ever since. She especially enjoys preparing directions and internet TripTiks for members. "When they walk out of here with a smile on their faces, it makes my day."

Kitty Glasser has been with AAA Central Penn for four years. With a background in the hotel industry, she is an expert in hotel reservations. She enjoys providing all of the services that AAA offers to its members every day.

Branch Receptionist Shirley Baker is a familiar face to all who enter the Branch. At the receptionist desk since opening day, Shirley previously was at the Market Street Branch and will celebrate her 12th year at AAA Central Penn in June. In addition to directing members to the correct department,? Shirley sells memberships, takes payments, gives out passport applications, maps and TourBooks.

Travel

Travel Consultant Liddy Leonard has been with AAA Central Penn for nine years. The first two, she worked in the Discoveries by AAA Group Travel Department and then moved to the Mechanicsburg/Silver Spring Branch. Liddy is a specialist for travel arrangements in Hawaii, Alaska, for Holland America and Norwegian Cruise lines, at Sandals Resorts and for Disney. She has recently taken a Panama Canal trip and braved a zip line in a Costa Rican rainforest. Lead Travel Agent Angie Hassara has been with AAA Central Penn since July 2005; previously she was an associate of retired China travel expert Bob Cheung. Angie is a Switzerland and Australia specialist and says many of our members have recently booked unique, specialty travel packages. She said no matter where the trip, the combined travel agent expertise at the Branch can help with their travel plans.

Heather Enck, Certifed Travel Associate, started as a travel consultant in our Camp Hill office from 1996-2001, when she moved to Miami, Fla., to work with Carnival Cruise Lines. She returned to Camp Hill in 2003 and then transferred to Mechanicsburg a year ago. She is a Caribbean Destination Specialist and stated, she and the other travel consultants are ready to help book tours, specialty trips, cruises, honeymoons and more.
