May - June 2008 - AAA News The Membership That Saves Money What’s in your wallet? How often have we heard this question in commercials on television? I’m sure you have a AAA Central Penn membership card in your wallet if you are reading this article, but have you stopped to consider all the advantages and features that your AAA membership affords you? When I joined AAA 42 years ago, I knew emergency road service, the Travel Agency and the Insurance Agency were part of my membership advantage. However, my main reason for joining AAA was for the emergency road service benefit, because I was doing a great deal of traveling as part of my job. Since then, I have come to appreciate my membership card more through the added benefits of the club, especially the Show Your Card and Save program. Many local and national merchants give the AAA member a discount for merely showing your card. More participating businesses are being added all the time. You can read about the more than $1 billion AAA members saved in 2007 on page 39. All of our branches have travel stores carrying a full line of luggage and other necessary travel-related items. As a member, you are able to purchase items in these stores at a member discount - just another plus of your membership. Don’t forget the AAA credit card offering even more savings. Check with your local AAA office for details. It’s the season for gift giving. Most of us know someone who is graduating from college or high school. What better gift than a AAA membership which offers so much more than emergency road service. Got a wedding gift to consider this spring? Visit our travel stores for that perfect gift for the honeymooning bride and groom. How about Mother’s Day and Father’s Day – the gift list goes on and on. Let AAA help with a AAA Visa gift card. Yes, there are lots of benefits of having the AAA Central Penn membership card "in your wallet." Now that the vacation season is officially upon us and travel is increasing, your safety continues to be our concern.
