May - June 2008 - Travel Land Ho! It’s Antarctica! Yes, all the way south there really is a place of where penguins preen their chicks in breathtakingly beautiful landscapes. Here, too, giant humpback and killer whales glide among immense icebergs on which sleepy seals bask and ride. Nature in all its awe-inspiring power and magnificence is revealed in the fantastic landscapes and exotic wildlife of this extraordinary "White Continent," where so few travelers are fortunate to go.
Fortunately for Central Pennsylvania travelers, the North Museum of Natural History & Science in Lancaster is offering a specially hosted group tour to provide such a unique opportunity to experience Antarctica in a way that is as comfortable as this incredible adventure can be! Through special arrangements by AAA Travel, this trip is the latest in a long line of highly respected "Rambles" sponsored by the North Museum for nearly 30 years. Traveling aboard the new ms Fram of the famed Norwegian Hurtigruten fleet of superior expedition ships, this program features expert guides for the numerous excursions ashore in Antarctica, plus enrichment lectures on board. Departure from the USA is set for December 28, 2008, with return on January 9, 2009. Overnight stops enroute are included in alluring Buenos Aires. Diverse optional extension tours can be arranged - perhaps to the Amazon, Iguassu Falls, Patagonia or Machu Picchu! The North Museum welcomes interested travelers to attend an information meeting about their "Antarctica Ramble" on Monday evening, May 19; please RSVP to 717-358-4712.
