Trombone-a-Palooza. "The trombone is the real leader among wind instruments. It possesses to the highest degree nobility and grandeur, commands all the accents - from imposing and calm religious tones to the frenzied clamor of an orgy. The composer may at will make it sing a chorus of priests, threaten, utter a lament, whisper a funeral dirge, raise a hymn of glory, break out in dreadful cries, or sound its formidable call for the awakening of the dead or the death of the living." That's what Hector Berlioz wrote, and when Berlioz talks, musicians listen. We hope you will too, and that you enjoy this evening devoted to the prince of winds. 7:30pm, Mt. Gretna Playhouse. $16 -$25, half-price for ages 19-26 and $1 for 18 & under. Gretna Music 717-361-1508

PERFORMANCES
April 21
The Fulton's Theatre for Young Audiences acting company will present an exciting new adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy, Macbeth. Contemporary street language fuses with the traditional text of the Bard's quintessential chronicle of the cursed king to produce Macbeth: Blood In-Blood Out, a story of the unquenchable thirst for power where disastrous consequences emerge for those who exploit others to get ahead. Adapted and directed by the Fulton's Charlie DelMarcelle in conjunction with inner city Pennsylvania students , Macbeth: Blood In-Blood Out is crafted specifically for older children and teens. The play explores the folly of unbridled ambition and the notion that today's society rewards the "Alpha Dog" - even if he must forsake close friends and eventually, his own soul, to reach that superior status. Performances will be 2:00 and 7:00pm in the Studio Theatre on the fourth floor of the Fulton Theatre, Lancaster. All tickets for Macbeth: Blood In-Blood Out are $7 for general admission seating. For tickets call (717) 397-7425.
