The AAA Staff is at Your Service in... Carlisle

The Carlisle Branch of AAA Central Penn, located at 701 South West Street, Suite C, is conveniently located off exit 47 of Route 81. Travel north on Hanover Street (Route 34) to the first red light, turn left onto Noble Boulevard and turn right on South West Street at the first stop sign. The office is on the right after CVS.

The staff at Carlisle takes part in Project Share during the holidays with donations of bags of food for holiday dinners. They also fulfill a family’s wish list for Christmas through the Salvation Army or donate needed items to Safe Harbour. And recently they sent a care package to Iraq for a former staff member and other soldiers with him. The entire staff looks forward to its Community Days celebration.

Branch Manager Lisa Highlands has been with AAA for 11 year, first as a Member Services specialist, then Member Services manager before her present position. Lisa enjoys working with members, helping them plan their trips and learning about new areas. Lisa is currently working on North America geography training.

"I enjoy helping our members have a memorable vacation," Lisa said. She said she also enjoys working at the Carlisle branch because the staff works as a team.

Assistant Branch Manager Deb Railing has been with AAA Central Penn for 30 years. Before becoming assistant branch manager about a year ago, she was on the AAA Travel Agency staff at Carlisle. Deb enjoys the variety of responsiblities her position require as well as the people she serves. Deb is a certified travel counselor (CTC), destination specialist and a notary.

"Working for AAA for the last 30 years has been very rewarding both professionally and personally," said Deb, who served for 29 years in the Travel Agency and was promoted to assistant branch manager.

Susan Sweigard is a regional manager for AAA Central Penn and reports to Carlisle when she’s not traveling in her territory. She has been with AAA for 18 years. Susan started as a travel counselor in the Camp Hill branch, then was eastern regional travel manager. She is a CTC, accredited cruise counselor and a destination specialist for Alaska and North America. Susan served as Camp Hill branch manager before becoming a regional manager almost a year ago. She says she enjoys her coworkers, the members and the variety of each day.

"I enjoy working for a well established, trusted, brand name company that provides needed services and assistance to the public," she said.

The Member Services Specialists at the Carlisle Branch are always ready to help with everything from ordering a TripTik to licensing to helping with a luggage purchase. The versatile staff can do it all.

Judith D. Kauffman has been a Member Services specialist for nearly 10 years. She enjoys talking to members about the places they have been or where they are planning to visit. She has been on tours of Virginia and Arizona to gather information so she can help members when they plan trips to these states. "I enjoy the people and I enjoy doing title work," she said. "It is always so different."

Ann Frehn, Member Services specialist, has been with AAA for eight years. She started in Travel doing clerical work parttime. Ann, who is a notary, likes the variety of the job. "No two days are the same and the variety of clientele makes life interesting," she said. "That and being in customer service really make it enjoyable."

Patty Steury has been with AAA for almost two years. She enjoys working with the members and fulfilling all of the different requests they have.

Kathy Burkett has been with AAA Central Penn for almost a year. She previously was a receptionist. Kathy enjoys meeting the different members and offering them individual customer service. She especially likes filling TripTik requests.

Insurance Agent John A. Butz has been with AAA Central Penn at Carlisle for two years. He is licensed for life, health and property/casualty insurance and enjoys helping people understand what their insurance coverage means, and helping them choose coverage that will provide them with the right amount of protection. John says he enjoys working for AAA because "it is a service based organization with a strong commitment to the member."

Kathi Lawton is an insurance administrative assistant who has been with AAA Central Penn for 14 years. Kathi said she enjoys the contact with the members as well as the other staff members.

Sandy Walker, has been a travel consultant at AAA Central Penn for 18 years. She enjoys selling adventure travel and is a destination specialist for Alaska, Hawaii and Disney. Sandy is an a accredited cruise counselor.

Travel Agent Sheri Swigert Heckman has 41 years of experience in travel. She has worked for AAA for 13-1/2 years. Sheri has earned her CTC as well as numerous other certificates. She says her favorite part of her work is making her clients’ trips special for them. She also enjoys the team spirit she encounters with her coworkers.

Crystal Smiley, AAA Travel Consultant, has been with AAA for eight of her 10 years in the industry. She is a Destination Specialist for Hawaii, Disney, Alaska and the Caribbean. She is also a CTA and a cruise coordinator. Crystal enjoys working at AAA because it is a great team.

Travel Consultant Yvette Gonzalez is a recent graduate of Central Pennsylvania College with an associate’s degree in Travel and Tourism. She has been with AAA Central Penn for about a year and already is a Disney, Carnival Cruise Lines, Mexico and Caribbean destinations specialist. Yvette is also bilingual in English and Spanish. "My favorite part of working for AAA is that I get to help people with their travel needs and dream vacations and make them as perfect as I can so that they have a great and memorable time," Yvette said. "I love working at AAA because even though we have offices all over central Pennsylvania, we are like a family, we always help each other out."



Current Highlights
The offices of AAA Central Penn will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Emergency Road Service will be available as it always is 365 days a year. The Member Services Call Center will be available at 1-800-717-4222 from 8:00am - 4:00pm. We wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day holiday.
