Celebrate the New Year with Roses and RJ Harris
Celebrating the new year with millions of roses certainly would be a big bill from the florist, but not if you are celebrating at the world-famous Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena. Join RJ Harris of WHP 580 Radio on a holiday getaway for a spectacular start to 2009! Treat yourself to some of California’s most popular places and annual events with a four-night stay in lovely Long Beach, December 29, 2008 - January 2, 2009.
RJ Harris, the popular radio talk-show host of WHP 580’s "RJ Harris in the Morning," enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for travel with his radio listeners and now he wants you to come along with him to California to share the fun. Past group trips with RJ have netted him a loyal following and the stories they tell of travels with RJ are an entertaining mix of legend and lore.
"AAA Travel knows the best way to go," says RJ, "so join me in California on this colorful holiday tour. When we are together on this one-of-a-kind vacation, I know you will thank me over and over again!"
As you may have heard on the "RJ Harris in the Morning" radio show, here is a preview of AAA’s New Year’s Getaway with RJ Harris as your vacation host:
- AAA Travel provides you charter motorcoach transfers right from Harrisburg to BWI Airport for your flight to Los Angeles - "The City of Angels." Fabulous Long Beach will be your home for four nights at a first-class hotel.
- The California-style fun will begin the next morning with a trip to pretty Pasadena for a day combining the excitement of the season with special activities surrounding the Tournament of Roses. You will have the opportunity to view the spectacular floats while the decorating committee puts on their final touches, as well as attend Bandfest, featuring prize-winning bands and giving you a chance to see these talented musicians, dancers and other performers in action. Your evening will include tickets to see the amazing “Glory of Christmas Show” at the famous Crystal Cathedral.
New Year’s Eve day will be yours to explore the area on a choice of many optional tours in the area. After this exciting day, get ready for even more at the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner Dance, with live entertainment and a champagne toast to 2009!
- Your Happy New Year will kick off in style on January 1 with the world-renowned Tournament of Roses Parade! This grand tradition began in 1890 with just 2,000 people viewing the action in Pasadena. Now, more than 1 million spectators line the five-mile parade route. You can be part of 2009’s Rose Bowl Parade history when you join RJ Harris in reserved seating area for prime viewing. This colorful moving spectacle of floral decorated floats, marching bands and horse units can be appreciated fully only with your own eyes. After the parade, the remainder of your day will be at leisure. That night, you will enjoy another evening of spectacular live entertainment carefully orchestrated just for you and your fellow travelers with RJ Harris.
- Bid farewell to California the next day and jet home thrilled with many fond memories of your wonderful New Year’s vacation, the Tournament of Roses Parade and ringing in the New Year with RJ Harris!
