Magazine Archive - July / August 2006 Safety Patrol Day at the Circus Members of 26 school Safety Patrols attended the circus on two days recently and enjoyed clowns, animals, acrobatic acts AND a human cannonball. To top it all off, attending Safety Patrols took part in parades before the matinee performances on March 30-31. Patrols were escorted into the arena by the Zembo Motorcycle unit and marched around the arena with their banners proudly displayed. All 26 schools marched into the Farm Show Large Arena and received special recognition for service to their schools and communities. AAA Central Penn encouraged all Safety Patrols to create school banners to present during the parade of schools. The response was phenomenal! The banners showcased an enormous amount of creativity, adding to the prestige of the day. AAA Central Penn also offered a pizza party to the school that designed the most creative banner. Congratulations to Broad Street Elementary from Mechanicsburg Area School District, winner of the banner design contest. Honorable mention goes to Park/Taylor elementaries from Columbia School District and to Maytown Elementary in Donegal School District. This is one of many events AAA Central Penn is proud to sponsor to give Safety Patrollers praise and recognition for a job well done. The Safety Patrol is a AAA program celebrating its 86th year of keeping school-aged children safe. AAA Central Penn will continue its commitment to supporting and recognizing these exceptional children for their service to their schools and communities.
